Brad Snyder was on born February 29th 1984. Snyder didn’t set out to be an Olympian. He was a lieutenant in the Navy, and served in Afghanistan as an explosive ordnance disposal officer. On Sept 7th, 2011 Brad Snyder lost both of his eyes after stepping on an improvised explosive device in Kandahar, Afghanistan. He rose from the darkness and has won 2 Gold medals and 1 Silver at 2012 Summer Paralympics in London, 3 Gold medals and 1 silver at 2016 Summer Paralympics in Rio. US Olympic Champion Brad Snyder is also the current world record holder for the 100-meter freestyle events.
