Harry Potter is a series of magical fantasy novels written by British author J. K. Rowling. The novels chronicle the life of a young wizard, Harry Potter, and his friends Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley, all of whom are students at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The story tells the struggle of an orphanage teen coming of age, coming from a “Muggles” world and entering the life of a wizard, fighting the most powerful wizard of all time, the Dark Lord Voldemort, who tried to kill Harry Potter to gain the immortality.

The British-American film series was distributed by Warner Bros. and consisted of eight fantasy films, beginning with Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone (2001) and culminating with Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 (2011). Production took over ten years to complete, was produced by David Heyman and stars Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter, Rupert Grint as Ron Weasley and Emma Watson as Hermione Granger.
